The Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate

Welcome to The Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate

Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate
The beautiful Hoedspruit wildlife estate is situated on the edge of the town of Hoedspruit, a small, quaint town with the most amazing view of the Drakensberg mountain escarpment. The Hoedspruit area, located close to the Kruger National Park, is home to an abundance of fauna. Animal spotting is a popular activity here. Whilst Hoedspruit is a small, quiet, secure town, it has all the amenities necessary for a comfortable life in the bush, nothing in town is more than 10 min.

The center of the estate is designated as a green belt and has been left as a wilderness area. The estate has several walking trails, two mountain bike tracks (in total 37 km) and several game drive tracks for you to explore.

Home to a fabulous array of plants, birds and animals, The Hoedspruit Wildlife Estates is a unique reserve that allows you to get closer to nature and to encounter Africa’s amazing wildlife. The Wildlife Estate at Hoedspruit in South Africa features over 250 different species of bird. With thousands of acres in which to roam, bird watchers will be in awe. On the estate you may drive on the various game drive routes, there are three dams with bird hides. The Estate is home to giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, waterbuck, nyala, impala, kudu, duiker, warthog, and jackal to name a few. Genet, civet, and porcupines are often seen at night. Occasionally leopard, hyena and wild dog are seen on the Estate.

Horseback riding is available on the estate, riders enjoy the sense of anticipation of what might be around the next corner! The trail follows a river, along which are two dams, where you can often find various species of game quenching their thirst. You don’t have to be an experienced rider to enjoy the thrill of exploring the bush on horseback, as all levels of rider are catered for.

The region around Hoedspruit itself are prime cycling locations attracting cyclists from all over the world who come to experience the magic of our open terrain and breath taking views. Bring your own cycle and do-it-yourself along well marked routes or take advantage of guided trails on rented cycles both in the estate and surrounding hotspots.

More than a two thirds of these properties have been developed into beautiful residential homes and bush lodges. Not only do residents enjoy the beautiful side of Africa in this secure estate, but supportive infrastructure and utilities are of high quality, from tar roads to waterborne sewage and our own water treatment plant, including modern, well maintained water and electrical reticulation.
